What is happening at Happy Paws Haven
2013-2015 has been the year of meeting the acoustic housing requirements and complying the Land & Environment Court orders for our dogs and their cabins!
A big Thank you! to everyone who has contributed so that we could get this work done!
2015-2016 goals are to make sure we upgrade our cat housing, build a dog enrichment yard and upgrade the facilities for our loyal volunteers!
In line with these goals we need to complete the following major projects:
We need to cut the number of animals in our care by half
Installation of composting toilets for both the current property and the new one
The building of an outside enclosure for our cats
The modification of our cattery
The building of dog enrichment yards
Installation of a new water tank on the new property
Installation of Solar Power on the new property
We have a policy to minimise our impact to our natural environment!
we plant native trees and shrubs
we use tank water for all our clean water needs
Grey water goes back into to ground
Solar power
Solar hot water
Recycled newspaper for litter
We need to upgrade our cat facilities!
The outside cat enclosure needs to be completed
The inside facilities need to be modified
There will be new legislation we will need to comply to so we are trying to plan ahead and make what modifications that will be required to protect the beautiful animals we have in our care!
This will mean we will be working hard to reduce numbers through adoptions to enable us to make these changes
Now we have some land, we need to build some dog enrichment yards where dogs can play, have new experiences and learn new things in preparation for their new homes.
Tunnels and mounds
Wobble boards, ramps, paths, tires, planks
Maze with various sensory things and smells along the way
Water feature and a dam for swimming
Please help us achieve these goals, please donate to ensure we are able care for the animals and help them to find new homes!

Happy Paws Haven is a no-kill animal rescue and rehoming centre in the Clarence Valley in Northern NSW which provides adoption or re-homing services throughout Australia. At Happy Paws Haven our primary focus is on the animals in our care. We foster a small number of dogs at a time thus are able to spend the time required to find the correct home for a dog. We only foster a new dog when a fostered dog gets a home
We are a no-kill organisation committed to caring for every animal we rescue. To achieve this we rely on the hard work of volunteers and donations from the community.
In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. From: The Outermost House by Henry Beston.
